About Inglenook Cottage

We wish you a very warm welcome to Ingleton and to our holiday home. We want you to enjoy your holiday to the full and will do our best to ensure this happens!

We have had many fantastic holidays in the area over the years and finally decided to buy a holiday home up here in 2022 and have spent the last 6 months lovingly renovating the property into what you see today.

Here we are in 2019 in Ingleborough Cave – we’ve aged quite a bit during the Inglenook renovation project!

We have tried to keep the character of the property whilst upgrading it to meet modern lifestyles such as energy efficient heating and LED lighting. We love the property and hope you will do too. We’ve included a pic below so you can see some of the repairs we had to do, like taking down and replacing whole ceilings and strengthening and restoring the floors! We wanted a place that felt like a home from home and have tried to create the perfect place to kick your boots off and relax after a day out on the trails!

2022 Autumn Renovation:

The village of Ingleton has an indoor climbing and bouldering wall, cycle pump track, outdoor swimming pool and children’s riverside play area. There are many walks in the area, including the famous waterfalls trail and Whitescar Caves. There are independent shops to explore including the award winning bakery selling artisan cakes and bakes.

You will be spoilt for choice for places to eat and and drink too, Ingleton has an abundance of pubs, cafés, bars and restaurants including. A gateway to the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, Ingleton is also well located for the nearby Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Morecambe Bay and the Lakes can be reached in under an hour.

I had a wonderful short break at this lovely cottage with my friend in January. Everything is spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Beautifully renovated inside and out and in a super location. Lots of walks in the stunning local area, with a small supermarket and several very nice pubs within easy walking distance. Perfect for couples and families alike, and dog friendly too with a downstairs area to clean off muddy boots or canine friends!

Inglenook cottage was a delight , Right in the centre of ingleton perfect location Very cosy and comfortable ,great to relax there after a long walk around the falls , lovely roll top bath and powerful showers Cottage has everything you could want and the beds are soooo comfortable. A stunningly beautiful renovation of this 300yr old cottage! Sympathetically keeping it's charm with original oak beams. Stayed with a friend for a weekend in January and had a wonderful time. Mark & Jayne, the owners have thought of everything! From the boot room downstairs with bike racks, doggy towels/ treats and an outside tap to rinse them off! Upstairs is amazing, open plan cosy lounge, kitchen diner. 1 dbl bedroom and fantastic bathroom on first floor then on 2nd floor, 2 further dble bedrooms (1 with ensuite) very tastefully decorated. Lovely views of the rolling hills, and a cute little balcony which will be gorgeous to sit out in summer! Not that we used it in January. Lol Ideally situated in a very pretty village, with shops, restaurants and pubs in walking distance. All dog-friendly which is important to me. Ingleton Falls, down the road, is a lovely 3hr walk which has breathtaking views. Well worth seeing but appreciated the lovely big bath afterwards! Mark & Jayne couldn't do enough for us, talking us through everything like tv/wifi etc. Would highly recommend this tardis of a cottage! Relaxing break or walking/caving/cycling , whatever you want, it's there. Can't wait to return in summer!

Mark and Jaynes home in the beautiful Ingleton was amazing!

There are not enough words to do it justice, from the moment we got there we knew we were going to have such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Mark and Jayne have taken their time to ensure that we were well looked after. The cottage itself is finished to impeccable standards. The bedrooms are beautiful and the bathroom is bliss! The town itself it’s quintessential British with its cobbled streets to local pubs! Everyone is extremely friendly. The Ingleton falls walk was unfortunately closed due to bad weather however there is another beautiful walk in Clapham (the next village) which is definitely worth a visit! Thank you again Mark and Jayne for opening your stunning cottage to us. We already cannot wait to visit again next year! (Booked again for Jan 2024)
